Why the voting process is important for Christians.

Updated: Aug 2

"The world suffers a lot. Not because of the violence of bad people, but because of the silence of good people"...Napoleon

1 Corinthians 6:1-4 AMPC

DOES ANY of you dare, when he has a matter of complaint against another [brother], to go to law before unrighteous men [men neither upright nor right with God, laying it before them] instead of before the saints (the people of God)?
Do you not know that the saints (the believers) will [one day] judge and govern the world? And if the world [itself] is to be judged and ruled by you, are you unworthy and incompetent to try [such petty matters] of the smallest courts of justice?
Do you not know also that we [Christians] are to judge the [very] angels and pronounce opinion between right and wrong [for them]? How much more then [as to] matters pertaining to this world and of this life only!
If then you do have such cases of everyday life to decide, why do you appoint [as judges to lay them before] those who [from the standpoint] of the church count for least and are without standing?
ree

Christian people are too passive. We see the evil and strategies that the enemy is doing but we do nothing to counter it. Jesus has given us the power to counter the enemy, but we leave it for the world to do.

1 John 4:4

Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him] and have [already] defeated and overcome them [the agents of the antichrist], because He Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world.

1 Corinthians 2:14-15

But the natural, nonspiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense) to him; and he is incapable of knowing them [of progressively recognizing, understanding, and becoming better acquainted with them] because they are spiritually discerned and estimated and appreciated.

But the spiritual man tries all things [he examines, investigates, inquiries into, questions, and discerns all things], yet is himself to be put on trial and judged by no one [he can read the meaning of everything, but no one can properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him]

We cannot afford to sit idly by and believe whatever we hear. It’s time to get informed and not be influenced by other people, or the media!

Romans 3:3-4

What if some did not believe and were without faith? Does their lack of faith and their faithlessness nullify and make ineffective and void the faithfulness of God and His fidelity [to His Word]?

By no means! Let God be found true though every human being is false and a liar, as it is written, That You may be justified and shown to be upright in what You say and prevail when You are judged [by sinful men].

Throughout scripture we see that God Himself expects us to be proactive and not live in reaction to circumstances. We are supposed to be the leaders and law makers:

ree

Matthew 5:13-16

You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality), how can its saltness be restored? It is not good for anything any longer but to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men.

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.

Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.

Deuteronomy 16:18-20

You shall appoint judges and officers in all your towns which the Lord your God gives you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment.

You shall not misinterpret or misapply judgment; you shall not be partial, or take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and perverts the words of the righteous.

Follow what is altogether just (uncompromisingly righteous), that you may live and inherit the land which your God gives you.

Ever more increasingly we see that Christians are being persecuted just like they were in Jesus’s time. The government more and more are doing away with Christian freedoms and values and replacing them with policies that God Himself would not support:

Abortion

Same sex marriage

Taking away our freedom of choice...

and the big one, freedom to express your Christian faith.

ree

The Word of God has already predicted that this would happen in the latter days. The sad thing is that we as Christians are standing by and watching it happen. One of the biggest mistakes we make is not voting in our elections. That privilege and responsibility is something a lot of Christians make excuses not to exercise. They base their decision on the fact that all of those running are corrupt and none of the candidates deserve to serve.

1 Timothy 4:1

BUT THE [Holy] Spirit distinctly and expressly declares that in latter times some will turn away from the faith, giving attention to deluding and seducing spirits and doctrines that demons teach,

2 Timothy 3:1-5

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

Romans 3:23

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

(NONE ARE WORTHY) only those who are willing to uphold Godly values!

The corruption is very evident in todays government. But we as representatives of Christ must evaluate and make decisions based upon what the Word of God says and not what we see or feel.

Voting for a particular party or person for personal reasons must be reevaluated. If the policies of a party or person DOES NOT represent what God has said in His Word, we CAN NOT support that party or person regardless of our personal feelings. Instead of not voting because there is no one you deem worthy, you are in error according to the Word of God for not doing so:

Romans 13:1-7

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore, whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore, one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience. ...

1 Peter 2:13-17

Be submissive to every human institution and authority for the sake of the Lord, whether it be to the emperor as supreme,

Or to governors as sent by him to bring vengeance (punishment, justice) to those who do wrong and to encourage those who do good service.

For it is God's will and intention that by doing right [your good and honest lives] should silence (muzzle, gag) the ignorant charges and ill-informed criticisms of foolish persons.

[Live] as free people, [yet] without employing your freedom as a pretext for wickedness; but [live at all times] as servants of God.

Matthew 22:21

“Therefore, render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.”

Revelation 3:16

So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth.

Matthew 12:30

He who is not with Me [definitely on My side] is against Me, and he who does not [definitely] gather with Me and for My side scatters.

Look at the policies that are being presented, not the person that represents the party. If the policies in any way promote lawlessness (harboring illegals, oppressing the Jews, racism, or anything that the Word of God says is WRONG) you as a true follower of Christ cannot support those policies. The law was created for the lawless! As a believer you are more prone not to break the laws, therefore good laws are for ALL people (i.e. tax cuts, national security, healthy economy, pride in our country), a bad law will affect you MORE as a believer because it is not written to support your morals or values (i.e.: same sex marriage, abortion, supporting illegal immigration etc.)

ree

1 Timothy 1:9-10 NLT

For the law was not intended for people who do what is right. It is for people who are lawless and rebellious, who are ungodly and sinful, who consider nothing sacred and defile what is holy, who kill their father or mother or commit other murders. The law is for people who are sexually immoral, or who practice homosexuality, or are slave traders, liars, promise breakers, or who do anything else that contradicts the wholesome teaching

1 Timothy 5:8

But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

Isaiah 5:20

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

1 John 3:10

By this it is made clear who take their nature from God and are His children and who take their nature from the devil and are his children: no one who does not practice righteousness [who does not conform to God's will in purpose, thought, and action] is of God; neither is anyone who does not love his brother (his fellow believer in Christ).

We must make our stand people of God! This dispensation in time is precarious at best. We must stop fighting each other and take the fight the true enemy. The spirit of evil has taken hold and distracted our attention from what is really going on: We are losing the battle because we are focused on the wrong things! Jesus himself looked like the enemy of the Jewish people, we know the result...they crucified Him! Their focus was on the wrong thing.

We are here again, this time because of Jesus’s sacrifice we don’t have to succumb to the attacks of the enemy or be deceived. We must put our faith to work by doing what the Word has instructed us to do:

Use your voice-it has power...YOUR VOTE is your voice. Let your FAITH and RELATIONSHIP with Christ make your decision. FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD ...

Proverbs 18:21

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof

James 1:22

But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth].

Make a Stand! regardless of how you feel or what you have always done stand with those who honor God, Biblical values and His Word...

Deuteronomy 30:19

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore, choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

2 Peter 1:3

For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue).

Finally, resolve to PRAY because the leaders in office need support. They also need God’s guidance to continue to be Godly leaders...

Proverbs 29:2

When the [uncompromisingly] righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked man rules, the people groan and sigh.

2 Chronicles 7:14

If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.
